Taking over 100 hours to erect they were sent to badly bombed areas to replace destroyed housing. Named after Lord Weir whose Scottish company was also involved in the manufacture of prefabricated housing. Some were built locally and occupied by workers from Sankeys (called Weir Gardens)(now demolished).16 Roding Avenue, Barking, Essex1950 outside our prefab in Crownhill, Plymouth.255A Westbourne Park Road, London, W11AboutAerial map of post war prefabs where I was born.
