I lived in a prefab there in the army fifties we used to play in the fields behind them and go down to the river Roden .When the river flooded it came in to the prefab under the skirting boards we used to have to out towels all around to try and stop it. I can remember the excitement when a new gas cold fridge was delivered .I think it was 151 i am Joan Brewer my sister Joy and younger brother Stephen we were re housed to borehamwood i remember not wanting to go.

Denise was a very good friend of mine, we lived in the prefab you can see behind Denise’s prefab. Along with Vivien who lived next door the 3 of us spent many happy years at Oakwood hill.
